This page is dedicated to our Units Young Marine of the Year.
Acey Yonn started the Young Marine program in 2007 at the age of 13 he completed Recruit Training and recieved the rank of YM- Private. He has attended both JLS and SLS academies in both Merietta, GA and Smyrna TN. He teaches DDR in a local school and has recieved his DEA device. He has put in over 80 hours of communitee service for Toys for Tots and has over 500 hours of communitee service on his own time. He is a rising Senior in high school, he will graduate December 12, 2012.
He has earned each rank up to YM-Master Sergeant he is looking forward to going back to JLS/SLS academy in Smyrnia TN to teach for the second year next summer.
He is the CSRA Unit YMOY he went to Batallion and won Georgia 2nd Battalion YMOY and he is the first ever Georgia Regiment YMOY. He came in second place as YMOY on the division level.
Young Marine of the Year (YMOY) is chosen each October. The award is given out at the Young Marine Ball. Canidates must be in the program atleast one year, write an essay about what being a Young Marine means to me and what I would do as Young Marine of the Year. All essays are due by the first meeting in October.
Registered Adult of the Year is chosen by the Young Marines this is based on National standards and the RA will be recognized at the ball.
Unit Parent of the Year is chosen by the Unit Staff and recognized at the Ball.
