The Young Marine Recruit goes through a 10 week recruit training, that starts and ends with a 24 hour lock-in. Recruit training teaches the initial movements of close order drill, saluting, intense physical training, fast paced class work and memorization homework, Young Marine history, the Young Marine Hymn, Young Marine Obligation and Creed they also learn the National Anthem. They also learn the Young Marine core values of Discipline, Leadership and Teamwork, and the rank structure not only for the Young Marines which is the same as the Marine Corps but also the rank structure for all military services.
